Dragon Ball Figures by Ban Dai - The Best of 2022
The Fanatic Review team have gone through some of the best Dragon Ball Figures out there in 2022, and we have compiled our favourite fifteen. We have carefully selected these figures based on likeness, price and of course, quality. Firstly I would like to point out that if you are looking for Funko Pop! figures you will not find them in this article.
Also, all the figures listed are reasonably priced and won’t break the bank. However if you do want to break the bank, here is some of the most expensive figures on Amazon.
Also, We would recommend these figures for children say aged 8 and up, who aren’t going to be overly heavy handed with them. Their main use is for putting in great poses, like a battle scene or a special move pose, if you want to by something for small children that want to bash them together a bit, take a look at these Dragon Ball Limit Breakers, these will be ideal.
It is also important we note that we review these products independently and we may earn affiliate commissions through the direct links on this page.
We absolutely fell in love with this 17cm Dragon Ball figure by Bandai. Not just because of Cell being a great character, but because he was one of our favourites in Dragon Ball Z and then Dragon Ball Super.
The likeness of this Cell figure is remarkable and it is incredibly posable, like all of the figures on this list.
The fists can be removed and changed for open palms. This bad boy takes up an awesome space on the shelf.
Pro’s
- Captures the likeness of Cell in his final form
- Changeable hands
- Worth the reasonable price
- Collectable item
- Available for Prime Delivery
Con’s
- Some feel the wings seem a little fragile
Piccolo is possibly my favourite character from the Dragon Ball series and this epic Dragon Ball Super version looks fantastic. The likeness is perfect, extremely posable and has replaceable hands. But also an extra hand is available with the index and middle fingers pointing out, this will be to put piccolo into the special beam canon pose, which is pretty cool.
Some people have mentioned the limited head movement of the figure, whilst some say the hips seem a little loose for standing. In our experience, this is a brilliantly made figure and we highly recommend.
Pro’s
- Perfect Piccolo Likeness
- 17 points of articulation to create unlimited poses
- Additional set of hands, plus one extra for Piccolo’s signature move
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- Limited head movement
Goku Black also known as Zumasu is Future Trunks main protagonist in the Dragon Ball Super anime series and we thought this figure was epic for a few reasons. Firstly not only does it have the usual additional replaceable hands, in the specific case of Goku Black there is also a “blade of energy” that is mounted by replacing one of the two hands.
In this set of figures, you get an addition piece to build your own Broly figure, which we thought was pretty cool and you can find some of these in this article.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Additional set of hands and a blade of energy
- The leg of Broly is also included to build your own figure.
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- None
Vegito first appeared in Dragon Ball Z all those years ago, with the use of the Patara Earrings we saw the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, as Vegito took on Super Buu, He returned in Dragon Ball Super to fight Fused Zamasu.
This Dragon Ball figure is one of those that I was talking about, It comes with another Broly body part as well as the additional hands, and also another “Blade of Energy” just like the Goku Black figure.
We think this a great addition to any collection and definitely worth is if you’re planning on building that Broly figure.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Additional Hands and Blade of energy
- The Arm and Hand of Broly to build a figure
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- One complaint of a loose leg.
We couldn’t include one half of the fusion without the other. This Gogeta figure was our favourite. Just like Vegito, he first appeared in Z but ended up returning in Dragon Ball GT. This Super Sayan 4 version, which is one of the most powerful forms in the series, looks awesome and just like the rest is great for plenty of different poses and comes with the additional set of hands. This is also reported to be one of the most solid figures in the Dragon Stars series.
Also it is important to point out that the hair is actually orange even though it looks pink in the picture.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Interchangeable hands if you want to perform a Kamehameha
- Solid build
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- Hair colour slightly differs to image
Future Trunks is a great character in the series and thats the reason he made this list, that with the cool accessories he comes with, he comes with not one, but two sets of additional hands, and if that’s not enough he has a sword that he can hold and another that he can carry on his back which is detachable. The likeness of this Dragon Ball figure is fantastic and also highly posable. Some people have complained about the movement of the figure but the truth of it is, it’s just articulated differently and more care needs to be taken with certain movements. I would say this is ideal for a shelf piece as part of the collection and not for someone who is going to push it to its limits and see how far it can bend.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- 2 sets of additional hands
- 2 swords that can be held in hand and on back
- Another piece of Broly to add to the build a figure
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- Can be broken if care is not taken on the joints.
Frieza is possibly one of the best villains to grace the entire Dragon Ball Series. Which why it is also hard to believe that it’s extremely difficult to find another brand that does a First Form Frieza figure. The figure looks absolutely identical to the Frieza we see in the series too and again, extremely posable. It comes with an additional set of open palms and like the piccolo figure, an extra hand with a pointing finger. This will be to imagine Frieza performing his death beam. What I do really like about this figure, is that it is smaller than the others, so that he is the right ratio amongst the other figures. The tail is movable and will extend above his head, giving him that larger threatening presence.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Good ratio to other figures
- Additional set of hands plus one finger point
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- None
Like we mentioned earlier, Super Sayan 4 is one of the strongest forms in the Dragon Ball series, and Vegeta is one of the best characters, he was great as a villain, and even better as a hero. This Dragon Ball figure comes with an additional set of hands just like the rest and is just as posable. It has an incredible likeness to that of the series and definitely one to add to the collection. A couple of reports of flimsiness on this one, but like we’ve mentioned earlier, If these figures are going to be over played with, it may be better to look at the Limit Breaker series of figures instead.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Additional set of hands
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- Breakable if pushed beyond its limits
And we’re back once again with another Gogeta figure, but this time it is Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta, which is really well made. I really love the likeness of this Dragon Ball figure from the Dragon Stars series, the blue hair looks epic and fits right into the collection nicely. It also comes with an extra set of hands like the rest of the figures
This one seems to be a little stiff so be careful when moving joints, but if you use a little soap, it begins to move a lot more freely. This figure makes my shelf look extremely powerful with that amazing hair. It was definitely worth the purchase.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Additional set of hands
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- A little stiff when moving for poses
So we have another Vegeta figure and this one is more of a classic, you’ll remember this style from the Android / Cell saga and the likeness is remarkable, right down to the popping vein on Vegeta’s forehead.
Like all of the Dragon Ball figures in the Dragon Star series, it comes with the additional set of hands for posing for techniques. The figure is extremely posable and we have seen no issues with joints or weaknesses. But let’s face it, it’s difficult to find a Super Saiyan’s weakness. Probably my personal favourite Vegeta figure out there, because I’m a fan of the classic Dragon Ball looks. I fell in love with this figure and I hope you do too.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Very posable
- Additional set of hands
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- None
This figure is a little smaller than that of the Dragon Stars Series. This one is 12.5cm and is part of the Dragon Ball evolve series. But as we took a look into this series we noticed that just like Dragon Stars the likeness is all very good. It just doesn’t scale with those other figures, so I would say you should pick a series of figures if you want them all to scale, if you just want to build a collection for a cabinet or shelf, then definitely purchase these figures too. Jiren is the most powerful mortal from the 11th Universe who we first see in Dragon Ball Super. An extremely good fighter and one that is worthy to stand on any shelf.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Available for Prime delivery
- Under £10
Cons
- Out of scale with the Dragon Stars series
In terms of likeness, this is probably my favourite figure form the Dragon Ball evolve series. Fou just under £10, this one is definitely worth the cash. I’d say be careful with any heavy movements as these figures have been known to break but it is also very posable if you take care with it.
Golden Frieza will mostly be remembered for his battles with Blue Goku and Blue Vageta in Dragon Ball Super which is why he’s a must purchase, like Jiren, he is not scaled to the Dragon Stars series of figures, but still great to have.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Available for Prime delivery
- Under £10
Cons
- Does not scale to dragon stars series figures
- Breakable if care is not taken
In his battle with Jiren, Goku was able to evolve into his Ultra Instinct state, where we saw his hair turn silver and bring Jiren to his knees with a punch to the gut. This is a fantastic figure to look at for its likeness, and it’s a shame it’s only 12.5cm as I would’ve liked it to sit nicely with the figures from the dragon stars series. But if you want to recreate that great battle with Jiren, then it’s a perfect purchase. Again, this one is highly posable, but just be careful with the moving parts, a few have complained of breakages, but it is set at a price just under £10 which we feel is very fair.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Available for Prime delivery
- Under £10
Cons
- Not to scale with the Dragon Stars Series
- Be careful with the moving parts when creating poses.
It wouldn’t be a great Dragon Ball figure review without Gohan would it? This Dragon Ball figure is part of the Dragon Stars series, so it scales at 17cm and also comes with the additional set of hands and a large torso of Broly piece to build your own figure.
Owning Super Saiyan Gohan is cool not only for it looks, but because he was the first super saiyan, and surpassed his father Goku in strength, which was an epic moment in the series.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Additional set of hands
- Broly Torso included
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- None
If you don’t want to build your own Broly figure by purchasing the other figures to collect, or you just can’t be bothered. Well this Dragon Ball figure of Broly fits the bill. It’s the right scale, highly posable, and very bulky, as Broly is. This figure looks huge compared to the rest and rightly so.
This version of Broly is the Super Saiyan Broly from Dragon Ball Super. Broly being one of the most powerful characters to grace the series, he definitely deserves a place in your collection.
Pros
- Great Likeness
- Additional set of hands
- Available for Prime delivery
- Great Price
Cons
- None
